Quality & Documentation

The specification matters.
So does the evidence.

Quality is more than a headline number. Start with the exact material, the requirements for your work and the documents that support the proposed supply.

01

Define the material.

Identify the compound or formulation, the requested quantity and the pack configuration. Similar names or different strengths should not be treated as interchangeable.

02

Discuss the specification.

Share the acceptance criteria and analytical requirements relevant to your work. We clarify what information is available for the requested material.

03

Review the documentation.

Request the applicable batch records and analytical reports. The product identity, batch reference, method and reported results should be considered together.

04

Agree the supply details.

Confirm packaging, storage information provided for the material, destination and the scope of the commercial offer before ordering.

Understanding the records

Ask the right
questions.

What does a Certificate of Analysis show?

A COA reports results against the tests and specifications listed on that document. Check the product and batch reference, test methods, result units and dates. Ask for the records relevant to the material being proposed.

Are manufacturer and independent reports the same?

No. A manufacturer-issued report and a report from an independent laboratory have different sources. If independent analysis is part of your purchasing requirement, specify it in your request so its availability and scope can be discussed.

Can I specify additional documentation?

Yes. Include the documents, test methods or acceptance criteria you need in your inquiry. We will discuss what can be provided for the requested product before you agree the supply.

Where are purity and storage details listed?

These are product- and batch-specific details. Request the applicable specification and supporting information. A general product illustration or a different batch's document should not be used in place of the supplied material's records.
